Why Should We Have Revival?

Why Should We Have Revival?

Revival is a reawakening, a time when the Holy Spirit moves freely among us, setting our hearts on fire for the Lord Jesus and reconnecting us to Him through true repentance. Everyone should experience revival, which can happen anywhere.

It doesn’t need to be at a specific place or event; it can happen right in one’s own bedroom.

I pray we all experience revival, which will help us to fully serve the kingdom of God. It’s easy to forget how much Jesus does for us. Without seeing Him, it can be challenging to keep our relationship strong. As humans, we often make poor choices, wrestle with sin, and struggle against our flesh, which can lead into darkness and confusion. However, the good news of the Gospel is that Jesus saves us, and He is always there for us, especially in our lowest moments. Jesus invites us to reconnect with Him through repentance as we willfully choose to change our mind and behavior, denying ourselves, picking up our cross, and following Him. That’s revival!

If God never allowed suffering, how would we refine our character or humble ourselves and turn away from self-centeredness? In our suffering, we can choose to draw near to God or to turn from Him. We can humble ourselves before God or choose pride. We can lay our pain and fear onto Jesus, Who cares for us and Who will strengthen us in our faith and perseverance, or we can grow bitter.

Some may think revival isn’t Biblical while others may believe that since they’re already chosen, repentance isn’t necessary. Some may think lifting hands, crying out to God, casting out demons, or speaking in tongues is strange. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are sometimes misused, but we must not let that stop the church from bringing healing to the nations or to devalue the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Focusing on teaching the Gospel and helping to equip the church to fight against spiritual battles should be priority over playing games and having fun because as we grow closer to Jesus’ return, the battle will intensify, and we need to be prepared by wearing the full armor of God. Each of us plays a significant role in the kingdom of God, and we are each responsible and accountable to God.

“Won’t you revive us again, so your people can rejoice in You?” Psalms‬ ‭85‬:‭6‬ ‭

“Lord, how great is your mercy; let me be revived by following Your regulations. ”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭156‬”
